One study at UC Berkley showed that in a game of Monopoly, in which a random player receives a larger sum of money to begin the game in comparison to their opponents, that over time, this player will begin to feel entitled to the money he or she started with. This same idea of entitlement is prevalent in the play, Glengarry Glen Ross. The play demonstrates how a competitive, unfair work environment skews the perspective of the workers by making the people who lose feel mad at the system and the winners feel entitled to their earnings.…

How much less educated would Australia be without personal stories? Telling personal stories is an important learning resource for people to understand different cultures and heritages. Without the education of different cultures people would be unaware of the different cultures and backgrounds that are going on around us. By people telling their personal stories it has taught people about cultures so there can be more of a positive interaction between different cultures as there is a better understanding of them. In the play ‘Box the Pony’ Leah Purcell has described her early life and how culture had made a huge impact on it. The way she was treated, seen and how she acted was influenced by her culture and her being aboriginal. In the documentary…
December 25, 1774: Christmas Day. My father has given me a most precious gift today, this diary. He has encouraged me to record my thoughts and experiences in this book. He has told me that one day, when I am an old man, I will look back and reflect on all that has occurred during my life and be amazed. I wonder if he is right……

Entertaining Mr Sloane was first premiered in the West End of London in 1964. It was written by Joe Orton. The original play Is set in a house next to a rubbish dump. My monologue is specifically set in a front room of a house. To display to the audience that my monologue was set in a front room I bought a coach, a lamp and some flowers to give it a homely feel, something the audience can familiarise with and to create that intimate warm feeling of a home although something terrible had just taken place. To present my monologue I have stayed true to the original layout of the set.…
Since the beginning of time writers haven chosen a variety of themes to include in their works. The most widely used and complex theme is love. Love is not a specified as a certain feeling or action. For centuries literary plays have employed love into accomplishing their intended outcome of their play. The theme of love emphasizes mutual love, mutual esteem and freedom to choose. Writers tend to make the theme of love become personal and understandable when coming to life in a play. Three writers made this possible in plays using the main theme of love. Three plays that show the complexity of love are “A Doll House” by Henrick Isben, “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams, and “A Midsummer…
I have always wanted to be a mother and a wife. I have always thought it was what I was born to be. But was that belief actually ingrained in me? Nathan Palmer brings up the question of being taught gender in his essay "This Isn't An Act!" The Sociology of Gender Performances. In this essay, Palmer discusses acts that are associated with being women and acts that are associated with men, and how biologically these acts are not automatic but taught. So that brings to question, have I always been a loving mother and wife?…
