People are taught In a society the most "paramount" events in recorded human history, yet knowing the smallest details of history could just be the thing that could set you aside from the people in your caliber of learning. On average, we learn another event in history every time we step into a history classroom, however no one teaches us about the mistakes and re-writes of the most chief document of American history. Before I read the article "Words Matter" I was unaware that the the Declaration of Independence had a few words changed and erased from the document. Benjamin Franklin and John Adams helped revise the Declaration of Independence, part of the revisions included handwritten corrections from Franklin and Adams. As stated by Fenella France "It appeared as Jefferson wrote "subjects" with the customary ink-dipped quill and then used his hand to wipe out the word while the ink was still wet. He then wrote "citizens" instead. A distinct brown smudge is apparent on the paper, although the word "subjects" is not legible without the help of the digital…

The title sets the tone and style for Jean-Jaques Rousseau autobiography. Confessions strays away from the Enlightenment movement and discusses different aspects of human beings. Unlike Benjamin’s Franklin’s autobiography, Confessions embraces humility and embarrassment. The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is more didactic, emphasizes the importance of learning how to write, read, and speak well. There are natural laws emplaced and systems that should be followed, but Confessions disrupts the ideas of the Enlightenment movement and ignites the start of romanticism.…

Another one of Benjamin's inventions was paper money. If you notice, Benjamin Franklin, today, is on the $100 bill. Back then, there was no such thing as paper money. They had silver and gold coins used as their currency. It was a real problem for them because they would carry big, heavy coins all day in their pockets. "Benjamin Franklin believed in paper currency" because "he noticed the advantages of paper money while living in London" (Vleet 45). Although Benjamin Franklin was a great inventor, he was also a man with great ideas to change the…

Franklin's passage is perceivably, though not physically, divided into two sections. The foremost section of the passage contains the story of Adam and Eve, as told by the minister. Within this scanty first section Franklin expresses a sparse, neutral tone, not quoting the minister even once. Rather, Franklin simply gives an indecently short recap of Christianity, ending with a frivolous "&c." and moving on to what, through his use of tone, he has subliminally communicated to be the significant fraction of the passage.…

People often have thoughts about other people having more enviable achievements than themselves do, but even if they think about doing things to change, their lack of perseverance still causes a poor outcome next time. Benjamin Franklin is one of the best example of a successful image throughout the history. Although having no eminent family background, he had himself work-hard to become a admirable person, one of the Founding Fathers of United States. Everyone fairly has 24 hours per day, yet he was able to surpass so many people in different realms. Benjamin Franklin had been through innumerable setbacks in his entire life, but other than making up excuses for his previous failures, on the other hand, Benjamin Franklin faced, understood,…

Response to the almanac was tremendous, and it sold as many as 10,000 issues a year. Second only to the bible, "Poor Richard's Almanack" was one of the most popular and purchased publications in colonial America.
