This bronze sculpture, portrays the idea of accomplishment through education. Preston Smith was a person who was, by all indications an unlikely prospect for greatness, humbly modes and unassuming. He was someone who by nature and academic excellence was just a simple man, but he was more than merely ordinary, he looked like a common man, but he was extra-ordinary noble pure and trustworthy. The image is adult-like with a calm demeanor. The missing right leg look as if it is used to be resting at his side. While the left leg is probably at a eighty (80) degree angle, with the right hand touching his hat and the left hand attached to his body projecting to the left leg. The status epitomized the human ideal of an accomplishment, and shows the athletic shape is perfect in a fully well dressed, the face is classically handsome as well; a sound mind equal a sound body. The slight bent in his left leg gives the impression of a movement, but it still look frozen while walking. The counterpoised stance adds an air of nobility to the “man” the great sculpture.
