What is repetition?
1. Repetition reiterates or amplifies a statement of different words to show that it holds true under different circumstances. In this way, the statement or idea is given emphasis and clarity. His whole existence, otherwise meaningless and trivial, has been ennobled through his labors until he has truly become the lord of creation. (Induction or Deduction)
1. The induction method of paragraph development is used when the writer arrives at the generalization after an enumeration or examination of particulars.
Into this slum many years ago, walked a woman in white sari. She had no income, no savings, no property – only love in her heart and inspired calling to help the poorest of the poor. She put sturdy arms around the ragged, barefoot children; she washed them. Today, Mother Theresa, the woman in the white sari, is among the best known woman in India. She still has no money, no property, no savings of her own. But her real wealth is Himlayan in size – love and care for thousands of unwanted children, victims of leprosy, the abandoned and orphaned, destitute or dying people.
She is loved by poor and the neglected; revered by the missionaries of charity, the Catholic order herself founded. She is admired by all for she has placed herself in total commitment to the poor transcending all barriers. It is no wonder, therefore, if one day she is pronounced as saint.
