(Scene opens: Everyone is laying on the ground, as though they are dead, focus on Hypnos.)
Hypnos (Narrating): “Wait! It’s not what it looks like! Let me show you what really happened.”
(The entire play rewinds.)
(Artemis and Poseidon are seated at a table in a restaurant. Hermes is disguised and lingering in the background.)
Hypnos (Narrating): “It all began on the morning of the first day of April, when Artemis and Poseidon decided to go on a brunch date to celebrate spring.”
Artemis: “How about this lovely spring weather?”
Poseidon: “It’s quite wonderful, but not very exciting,” (sighs)
Artemis: “I wonder what we could to make it more interesting…”
Hypnos (Narrating): “While they were distracted, Hermes decided it would be …show more content…
This is repulsive! Do you believe, Boreas, that you will not have to pay for what you have done?”
Hypnos (Narrating): “Hades was extremely angry, so he decided to return the favor. He vaporized the water and shot it back up to the earth, with the intent of teaching everyone a lesson.”
(Hades is extremely fired up, he turns the hail into a vapor and shoots up a geyser. Hypnos get sprayed by the geyser water and is extremely distressed.)
Hypnos: “I’m tired of these shenanigans. How can I stop this insanity? Aha! I can put them to sleep until this day is over!”
Hypnos (Narrating): “And, so, I did. I ended the insanity that took place on that dreaded April 1st. Now we’re back to where we began. As you can see, I only did what I had to do.”
(Hypnos approaches all of the gods and waves a hand, putting them to sleep.)
Hypnos: (chuckles) “Happy April, Fools.”
