Analysis Of Roger Cohen's Article Why ISIS Trumps Freedom
Is there such thing as to much freedom? According to Roger Cohen’s article Why ISIS Trumps Freedom there is. Throughout this thought provoking article, Roger goes on to propose many theories on the reasons why young Muslims around the world are willing to leave their lives behind, and make a long journey to join arms with the Islamic State (ISIS). Roger goes on to explain that he believes that the betrayal on freedom is due to the fact that freedom has overreached the moral boundaries. Meaning that nothing is off the table, citizens can practically do what they what when they want. The author of the article goes on to give clear reasoning’s on why people follow such causes. He argues that sometimes freedom may become a burden to the citizens

This article dose a great job in inferencing the motives and qualities that teen have in wanting to join ISIS. It goes on to explain that maybe one of the reasons that this movement is happening in relation to the desire to become someone in this world. Cohen explains that many young Muslims fell alienated and that ISIS “offers to give meaning, whether in this life or the next, to meaningless lives” (Cohen 4). By fighting for same cause these alienated teens can for that first time have something to fell passionate about. The Article also explains that this reasons might not be enough to get teens motivated to join ISIS, but he insists that there is “something deep” (Cohen 8) that need to be uncovered.
A huge migration is happening, the reason is still unknown, but the author of the article Why ISIS Trumps Freedom gives a great insight to the reasons why it could be happening. He suggests that the movement is due to the fact that teens feel alienated or maybe because freedom dose not offer the structural life style ISIS dose. Either way he said that the tactics that are being used to stop recruitment are not working and jihadists continue to infiltrate the minds of teens looking for a change, and the movement will continue to sprout if the puzzle is not
