Salvation by Langston hughes was written in the 1940's shortly after ththe harlem Renaissance. The story relates to a time in a 12 year old boys life where he lost in faith in the lord. Langston who is 13 at the time attends a church revival with his aunt reed. Unfortunately, Langston takes everything that his aunt and the people of the church says literal. Meaning, when they implied " You will see Jesus when you are saved from sin" he actually thought that within moment Jesus would appear in the church before his very eyes, welcoming him on his new path of righteousness.
