Analysis Of The Hero In Joseph Campbell's Poem 'A Man'
“You are the hero of your own story” -Joseph Campbell once said so in a way everyone's hero. A hero is someone who is always determined, creative in hard times, and not a coward when people need them.
In the poem “A Man” there is a soldier who lost an arm in a battle, but he doesn't let that slow him down. From the moment he lost his arm “He set himself to do everything with twice as much enthusiasm”, although he wasn’t able to do, have the things, he used to be able to, like playing piano.(“A Man” pg.10 paragraph 4)
Mulan was creative when she gets an “Idea and rushes to fire the cannon at a distant peak” and she temporarily buries the huns (Mulan pg.10 line 5-8). Heroes are creative on the spur of the moment live Mulan when there was trouble.
