Analysis Of The Poem I Ll Never Come Clean

The poem opens with the poet giving the audience all of his senses. He sets the scene by allowing us to see, feel, smell, and hear everything he’s experiencing. In the most academic way of stating this, he went zero to a hundred real quick. His words were blunt and straight to the point. He stated one thing and elaborated on it, showed examples and allowed the audience to relate to it. He told us he felt like a warm mop bucket and dingy tiles that’ll never come clean. As a person who doesn't write poem, how was I to interpret that? He did just that in his net stanzas. Buddy stated he felt like a trash can full of candy wrappers with soda pop dripping down the wrong side of the plastic. I was able to envision that and relate to what he was saying.
