Analysis Of The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment
Hi Dr. Robinson, years ago there was an experience called the Tuskegee syphilis experiment that I considered unethical. There were groups of poor black farmer that contracted syphilis. However, these people were misled to believe, that they were receiving free drugs from the government to cure syphilis. "Although a cure for syphilis was readily available since the mid 1940s via penicillin, treatment was deliberately withheld to study the course of the disease (Dickinson, 2014). Consequently, patients developed neurological problems, passed the disease to their children and etc. Patient have the right to know about their participation in these's experience. However, because of mistreatment of these participant, "led to the establishment of the
National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research in 1979 (Dickinson, 2014).
