The present paper explores the treatment of love and devotion in the selected poems of Mira. Her devotion to Lord Krishna is incomparable greatness beyond all possibility of calculation, measurement or imitation. Mira used elegant words in her poetry. In her poems, the elevated thought of true love for Lord Krishna results in an elevating effect morally, linguistically and artistically. Her poems build a platform of Divine understanding of the nature of love. Mira is the moth that burnt itself on the flame of love for Giridhar. She longs for meeting with Giridhar and burns herself like incense that fills the temple of devotion with the fragrance of love.

She joined the company of the saints without getting affected by the criticism of the worldly people. She used to wear a saree or a blanket of cloth on her body like a saint. Mira expresses her love-sick condition in this poem. She conveys that she is mad with love for Lord Krishna. In the same way, a person who suffered the pain of separation from his or her lover can only understand the pain in her heart.
