So with this in mind our first situation concerns SHGB concentrations, which can be influenced by a variety of factors. SHGB concentrations can become decreased by obesity and testosterone treatments, while also becoming increased in aging (5). With almost half of the testosterone bound by SHGB, and with these common conditions in play, its possibly to see how these factors could influence the free testosterone levels. In such circumstances a test of total testosterone may be warranted in the clinical decision-making of this patient.…

The United States first used medroxyprogesterone acetate and more recently luteinizing hormone release hormone (LHRH) agonists are used (Gordon, 2008). This began when sexual deviance was labeled as a medical condition (Gordon, 2008). Research was conducted on testosterone and paraphilias, namely looking at antiandrogen drugs such as cyproterone acetate (CA), medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), and gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist (GnRH) (Fromberger, Stolpmann, & Müller, 2011). These drugs are used to decrease testosterone levels, but findings have either been moderate or inconsistent (Fromberger, Stolpmann, & Müller, 2011). The benefit and risk ratio is not in favor of the use of medroxyprogesterone acetate (Garcia &…

This is an interesting year in the NBA because there are plenty of notable names that will be free agents at the end of the season. The summer could bring on the ultimate game of musical chairs for players, swapping teams for more lucrative contracts and a better chance at winning a championship. Of all the free agents, LeBron James has probably been the most talked about when it comes to 2010 restricted free agency. There has been plenty of speculation about the teams he will go to next year if he decides to leave Cleveland. After a loss tonight in game 6 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals, the talk has already begun to escalate as LeBron’s decision becomes more imminent. For that reason I choose to evaluate LeBron’s post-game press conference from the game 6 loss to the Celtics. It is not the typical press conference because of the aforementioned free agency. Moreover, it is an opportunity for him to talk to the fans of Cleveland, and almost apologize for not living up to this year’s expectations. It is also different from the typical press conference because there is some persuading on James’ part. Convincing the reporters in the room, and consequently the people paying attention to the situation, that he has not given any thought to what team he going sign with in the off season.…

If the testosterone production level is shut down, it may not return to normal after the steroids are taken. This claim is that there is no ‘safe’ dose of an anabolic steroid. If you continue to use steroids, despite health warnings or under your doctor’s advice you have a definite risk of having liver cancer but you can avoid the increase of getting liver cancer and other side effects. The use of steroids is moral because depending on how you take the steroids and the reason of use for them they can be safe to use far as certain medical conditions, steroids can be used to treat the muscle wasting in AIDS. But the use of steroids are unsafe just to improve performance ability because steroids are powerful hormones that can shut down the entire body due to the improper use for them. As a result the use of steroids are…
