As most artists do,Grimes is sending out a message about being cautious when one is out late at night and could possibly experience her assault if a person is not careful with their surroundings. Grimes then sings “And now it's gonna be tough for me But I will wait forever” referring that moving on from her situation is going to be difficult but she will take all the time she needs to heal mentally from her assault. This is song is very powerful in the way Grimes presents her experience. . Symphonia IX is Grimes ninth song on her Visions album. This song has a slower beat than what her usual songs have. This is a perfect song to hear how dreamy her voice is. Although at the end of this song, its mood completely changes direction as the beat gets faster it transitions from a heavenly sound to darkness, which many people might think sounds a bit a creepy. This song describes a heartbreak which is very hard to understand because of her high-pitched vocals.
In her lyrics, Grimes sings “ So as you fade away your life I lay dying And i would say yes, oh i would say!” and “See, my wait is you, my wait i you My wait is you (be in the dark in a deep mind) referring that she would feel she is dying from the separation from her and her lover. She gives off a vibe through her beats and lyrics that she is exaggerating what her true feelings are. She insist that she will wait for a person until they are ready, she will have the patience to wait until the person is ready. The uniqueness of this song is when it goes from a dreamy tone to darkness, definitely gives it a “Yarragh” moment.
