Scenario

In March 2013, the unemployment rate in Malaysia increased from three percent (3%) to three point three three percent (3.33 %). The increasing percentage of unemployment rate giving significance that there is a high competition to get the job in Malaysia especially for the graduate from Malaysia. This scenario not only happens in Malaysia, but also to the worldwide. The statistics shows that number of unemployment rate in a worldwide is increasing to twelve point six percent (12.6%) compared to previous year which is twelve point four percent (12.4%). It is also very tough to retain his employment after entering into the company as many of the graduates leave the jobs or giving up with the jobs. To remain stay in high challenging of jobs market, everyone has to involve in various development activities of the company and get rid of obstacles and must exhibit skills to survive for a long time. You must update your technical, social and professional knowledge with people around you.

In order to become a professional Engineer, you are asked to conduct the SWOT analysis in which you will understand your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. You also need to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) to enrich your strength in getting the employment. And finally, take up a mock interview to review and identify the areas of your concern.     Indiana University (IU) Health Paoli Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital in southern Indiana. IU Health Paoli serves a rural population and offers obstetrical (OB) services. The OB department offers an individualized family centered birthing setting. The hospital delivers around 130 babies annually. The mission of the OB department is to offer a personalized compassionate delivery of care and provide a quality outcome for mother and newborn. The staff on OB is all registered nurses (RN), certified in in-patient obstetrics and electronic fetal monitoring. All 14 staff members are neonatal resuscitation and advanced cardiac life support providers. 2 of the 14 RN’s are internationally board certified lactation consultants and have an 83% breastfeeding rate at discharge. Labor support offered is hydrotherapy, birthing ball, epidural and they also offer vaginal birth after cesarean. Six family practice physicians offer obstetrical services at the hospital and three of the physicians offer cesarean section services. The 2012 Annual statistics for the OB department reflected a primary cesarean rate of only 13% and no early elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks gestation. All RN’s and physicians are focused on quality, compassionate care and outcomes. All standards of care and core measures for OB care of followed and implemented to the fullest degree. The OB Nurse Director is very passionate about quality outcomes and staying patient centered with the delivery of care, decisions and policies. A special quality that all nurse’s and physicians possess on this unit is each patient, birth is a miracle. The opportunity to be present at this memorable time in each patient’s life is an honor not a job. The patient satisfaction scores and comments from NRCPicker® reflect this passion and commitment.…

    The employment condition in Malaysia is affecting mostly the manufacturing sector, which is represented by around 10% of the country as total labour force. Despite that, the revival of the local labour market seems to put ahead that the procedures taken by the Government under its fiscal stimulus packages to enclose the increase of unemployment in the country are effective. As firms in the manufacturing sector that were affected by the crisis reduced their operations, the conditions in the labour market weakened in the first quarter, especially in the first two month of the year. With one-half the workers being retrenched in the first quarter, the total retrenchments increased to a seven year high of a 26064 persons in 2009. However, as retrenchments declined and firms started to hire new workers, labour market conditions began to stabilize in the second quarter and improved thereafter. The unexpected fast recovery in the labour market following improvements in both global and domestic economic conditions, resulted in a lower unemployment rate of 3.7% of the labour force, compared to the earlier forecast of 4.5%. The grant salary increments had been continued by the employers in the private sector at a moderate rate of 3.4%, despite the challenging economic environment and declining productivity growth in 2009. At the moment, though, the official estimate of unemployment for the full year of 2009 still stands at 4.5%. (230)…
