Making the decision between attending a public or private college seems to be an issue for many people. College is a vital part of succeeding later on in life, so choosing the right college for you is essential. While all colleges specialize in preparing you for your future endeavors, do some prepare you better than others? Is paying a higher price for education at a private school worth it in the end, or can you get the same education at a public university? This analytical report will uncover the features of both private and public colleges and go on to assess their similarities and differences. To conclude, it will analyze the effectiveness of private versus public schooling and reveal my decision on which type of schooling is a better choice for incoming college freshman based on my research. The contents of this report are of importance in that beginning in the fall of 2014, I myself will be a college freshman and have narrowed my options for attendance down to two colleges, one being private and one being public.
