Around the age of twelve a peasant girl would get married and the boys were a couple years older. A more higher class family married a few years older and from every class the marriages were arranged. A king always had several wives while an ordinary man had one wife. A divorce was a simple procedure an a option but was not common. Cooking was done in open fires as well as clay ovens. Most bathed daily in the river while some bathed in a water basin at home. Everyone of all classes including men wore makeup.
