The caste system was believed to have been established when the gods sacrificed Purusha and divided up his body into pieces. Each piece of Purusha’s body was used to create a caste. For instance, the mouth of Purusha was believed to have created the priest caste. This speaks highly of the priest caste because it is essentially saying that the priests are the voice of god and can speak whatever he commands of them, thus making them very important and valuable. The feet of Purusha were believed to have given birth to the caste of laborers. Regardless of the communities political or religious structures and beliefs, social divisions are apparent. Looking all over the world it is clear that there are divides based on certain people's favor or affluence. While class systems are not always completely similar, there can be similarities. For instance, in the Indian and Egyptian caste systems the highest authority within the kingdom was the person who was believed to have the closest connection with the gods. However, there are differences in the specific groupings of people or even how people can be treated based on their ranking in
