The Romans left behind many legacies. One of the most important legacies was their culture. Rome culture left the best legacy because it is architecture left an idea for today’s modern sports, it is art help inspire artists today because they still do painting and pottery, also language because we still use Latin phrases today.
The Arch
The Romans got their culture from the Greeks and Etruscans. The Romans have the Arch which was borrowed from the Etruscans and it is the most important thing they add to architecture. The Arch was used for Aqueducts, which were used to bring water to areas far away from natural water supplies. Aqueducts were also called water bridges. This arch led to the dome ceilings used in many houses and buildings.(historyforkids)
The Colosseum
Another creation by the Romans was the Colosseum is also known as the Amphitheater. This Colosseum was made using stone and is most well-known Roman Structure and that is because much of it still remains. (ancienthistory.about) The Colosseum was used for the Roman Gladiators when they fought, they fought on the sand in the center. This Amphitheater has inspired many modern football stadiums around the world today.

What the Roman artists mostly focused was gods and goddesses. (historyforkids) Their was many different methods they used to show of their work, such as sculptures, painting, pottery, reliefs and architecture. The sculptures were used to decorate home businesses and parks. Most painted pictures of their everyday life on the walls of their home. The pottery celebrated the history of Rome or a particular family. The method of reliefs was when they carved a scene into a stone. Architecture was shown throughout the city, they used columns and building structures to show off their work. Today’s Capitol building and the White house was also inspired by the Romans
