ANDY

Yeah. I did that all by myself.

(beat)

Thanks, only took me three hours.

andy's talking head:

ANDY

When people think of Andrew Bernard, people think goodlooking, multi-talented, super salesman. And now, people will think artist.

Andy lifts up a copy of Ranger Rick magazine. The magazine is opened on a page with crude drawings on it. He points to a drawing of a man on the top right corner of the page.

ANDY(CONT'D)

It says here you're eleven. Did you lie about your age?

ANDY

No - maybe. But that's not important. What's important is that I'm a published artist now.

JIM

If you didn't lie about your age, how do we know that this isn't another Andrew Bernard?

Dwight stares at the drawing.

DWIGHT

He's going to sell paper with those little hands like that?

Dwight smirks at the camera.

PAM

This kid has a bright future--

ANDY

Okay! Yes! I lied about my age, alright. The point is that I was good enough to make it into the magazine, something Pam has never achieved. No offense, Pam.

Pam frowns.

PHYLLIS

This is wrong Andy.

OSCAR

Yeah you should'nt have lied.

Michael strides out of his office.

MICHAEL

Come on guys what's with all the working, lets get our game on. Wohooo!

PAM

Michael reads the magazine. He snorts.

MICHAEL

How's he going to sale paper with those small hands?

DWIGHT

That's what I said!

ANDY

Fine. If you guys want to take my achievement away from me than I'll take it away from you first.

Andy grabs the magazine out of their hands.

DWIGHT TALKING HEAD:

DWIGHT

I wanted to keep the magazine. I wasn't done helping the baby hamster find his mom.

In rule #3, which states “If you got to tell a lie, make sure it's simple and easy to remember.” This rule means when telling a lie it is vital to keep it simple so that it can be remembered and you won't contradict yourself later on and therefore show that you have lied. It is this ability that Todd demonstrates to his mother, when he was beating up Bud and his mother saw that Todd was kicking Bud while Bud was on the floor, so he lied and say he was trying to wake him up to go to the bathroom/lavatory and that he had ‘bed wetter’ written all over him.…

In the small, peaceful village of Rhinebeck, where tourists and travelers from all over the country venture through, a wooden cottage stood just off of Main Street. Within the cottage lay a middle aged man by the name of John Edelman. His short, scruffy beard had begun to remodel itself into a plain of grey, and his once youthful olive skin had turned pale with creases around his eyes and mouth. Most villagers, if asked about John, would have nothing but positive remarks. Kind, quiet, and caring, he often engaged in projects to improve the community, and had come to the aid of many friends.…

Adults do it sometimes when they want to keep their children happy and avoid them from being sad if parents tell them the truth. Now children do lie quite more than adults for their own reasons. The real question is why do children lie? Children lie often because they think the truth hurts people’s feelings and they are afraid of telling the truth.…
