Andrew Jackson’s outdated beliefs that one race is superior to another should NOT be promoted as a reward for people working 9-5 or even part-time, minimum wage. We should be able to broaden the horizons of those who had not …show more content…
seen that perspective before. They need to realize that we should not place such a man on a pedestal. A man who is afraid of diversity and cooperation should not be honored in this way or in any way similar. This world is chasing the dollar sign more than ever. Why chase it to see the face of unacceptance staring back at you? Being on a dollar bill is a privilege. The line up of *men* depicted on American paper currency have done America favors and improved the quality of the country in some way.
George Washington was the first President of the US and gave solid advice, even in his final days in office (unfortunately, this is advice that America did not take too seriously).
Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and was in charge of the American end of the Louisiana Purchase. Alexander Hamilton has a really cool Broadway show named after him and that’s enough reason to be honored. In all seriousness, he is considered a Founding Father, one of the Constitution’s greatest supporters, and was the first United States Secretary of the Treasury. Ulysses S. Grant was the 18th president and led the Union Army to victory in the Civil War. Benjamin Franklin was a Founding Father, wrote Poor Richard’s Almanac, and is credited with DISCOVERING ELECTRICITY. How does Andrew Jackson fit in with that. He did not have America’s best interests at mind and is a man that ended up with an entire political party formed to oppose him! He should not be a representation of success for so
many!
