Should Andrew Jackson stay or be removed from the twenty dollar bill? To qualify to be on the American twenty dollar bill,you have to be dead. Andrew Jackson was the 7th president of the United States and is currently on the twenty dollar bill. Jackson was responsible for things such as the Indian Removal Act and the Spoils System. Andrew Jackson should be removed from the U.S twenty dollar bill because he passed the Indian Removal Act,caused the panic of 1837, and created the Spoils System.

According to the video titled, “History vs. Andrew Jackson - James Fester”,Jackson set a precedent known as the Spoils System.The Spoils System was replacing professionals in the government with supporters. On one hand,the Spoils System could be seen as a giving the people an opportunity to work on a higher level,but on the other hand it can be viewed as firing people who deserve to be in the government for no good reason. Due to the fact that Jackson set up that precedent it exemplifies the nation as self centered. Jackson should be replaced by someone else on the twenty dollar bill because he set some controversial principles.
In conclusion,Andrew Jackson should be removed from the 20 dollar bill. First, Jackson proceeded with the Indian Removal Act which involuntarily killed 4,000 Indians years later. Second, Andrew eliminated the National Bank which later produced chaos. Finally,Jackson set a precedent that could be used for bad purposes.
