Andy Warhol was an American artist who was a leading figure in the art movement, his Pop Art. Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the fourth child of Ondrej Warhola and Julia. His parents were emigrants. Warhol’s father immigrated to the United States in 1944, and his mother joined him in 1921, after death of Warhol’s grandparents Warhol’s father worked in a coal mine.
