Carlsberg awards consulting and IT services contract to Accenture
Accenture (NYSE: ACN) will provide Carlsberg IT with management consulting, systems integration, application development, application maintenance and program management services in Europe under a three-year contract. Carlsberg IT is a subsidiary of Carlsberg that delivers a wide range of business solutions to the Carlsberg Group across Europe. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. “The focus within Carlsberg on reducing operational costs and increasing business process standardization across our business requires a flexible IT organization with a global presence,” said Kenneth Egelund Schmidt, vice president at Carlsberg IT. “Accenture's proven track record in the consumer products industry and world-class managed application services capabilities assures us that entering this collaboration will provide Carlsberg with access to additional IT resources and knowhow when and wherever needed, giving us the needed scalability.” Drawing on its global systems integration expertise, Accenture will help Carlsberg IT carry out SAP and Microsoft software implementations in Europe over the next three to five years to replace old legacy systems and implement a common enterprise resource planning platform, supporting standardized business processes and enabling future business growth.

The strategic collaboration will enable Carlsberg to meet future delivery demands by having a scalable IT organization. The agreement is designed to help Carlsberg: • achieve strategic objectives and initiatives • realize long-term benefits from reduced IT costs • improve the pace of Carlsberg’s IT application development and maintenance process • increase organizational flexibility by having access to the right skills at the right time, thereby accelerating the mobilization of resources “Carlsberg has a culture of quality, innovation and continuous improvement, and this program should help it to continue to
