Some of these types include; fur trade, animal testing, dolphin and whale slaughter, animals in sport and even in zoo’s. There are many types of animal cruelty, some of which people do not even recognize as being cruel towards animals. Forty to fifty million animals are killed each year for their fur ("Speak out for Species Web"). Rabbits, raccoons, dogs, foxes, chinchillas and many more are killed in ways that are repulsive and heartbreaking. The animals are killed in ways that will not cause a mess so their fur is clean and the seller will get the most money possible. …show more content…
Every day people are eating animals and not even thinking about it. The way animals are killed is repulsive and mind blowing that humans can do such horrible things to innocent animals. These animals are neglected, mutilated, put on drugs that cause pain and crippling, transported through all weather extremes and killed in gruesome ways. The most common animals killed for food include; chicken, turkey, cattle and pigs. Chickens and turkeys are treated the same in the way that they are slaughtered. When selling chickens and turkey the size of them matters, the bigger they are the more money the farmers receive. Most farms will genetically mutate them to make them bigger. A lot of the animals end up having a heart attack and dying from the chemicals before even going through the transportation process to the slaughter house. If the chickens or turkey are badly injured or sick they are killed by being beaten with a metal rod. Generally the animals are crammed into sheds with thousands of others not allowing them to move. These living conditions also cause a lot of the chickens and turkeys to be injured. If the animals do survive until the transportation process they are moved in semis with thousands of others with very little food and water. Once they arrive to the slaughter house their throats are slit, while still conscious, leaving them to have a slow painful death. Cattle are also killed in the slaughter house. They are normally shocked on the forehead between their eyes which will knock them unconscious. During this time the worker will hang the cow upside-down, they have to move quick because the cow regains consciousness in only a few minutes (“PETA Web”). Once the cow begins to gain consciousness the worker will slit the cow open and begin to skin them. By this time the cow has gained full consciousness and is feeling everything. The cow eventually dies from bleeding out. Pigs are

This Article describes in detail the horrific activity that occurs within the walls of a slaughter house. Quite often animals are not actually dead before they begin skinning and cutting them up. Because of hurried assembly line style slaughter and disassembly many of the animals die in an excessively cruel manner. This article also addresses that while many of the employees may feel negatively about the practices of the company they also feel they have little other options for employment. The article was written for the Washington Post which is a daily newspaper that was founded in 1877.…

Humans have been hunting and consuming animals for more than a millennia. The methods they used to kill the animals, though, have been completely different through the ages. For a good portion of that time, humans killed the animals by simply shooting them or stabbing them, quick and easy. Now, we have created factories known as slaughterhouses. Many people that have seen what goes on in these factories consider what some of the workers do to be very inhumane.…

“On Apr. 10, 2001, the Washington Post re-ignited public debate about slaughterhouses with their exposé "They Die Piece by Piece.” The investigation found that animals in slaughterhouses were often cut apart "piece by piece" while still conscious” (Procon.org). There are two methods that usually being used to kill animals. Both methods are cruel and unethical to animals. The first method would be using carbon dioxide gas. The animals will be transferred into the conveyor belt that moves through the tunnel filled with carbon dioxide gas to kill the animals. The second method would be using electricity. The electric current is applied to the animals’ head for making them unconscious. Some animals are still alive during both methods and it would make them even more painful. This is just one aspect of cruelty for animals. Many opponents of vegetarianism say that animals are killed so the other organisms can live, and meats have been in our lives for 2.3 million years so there is nothing wrong with killing animal for foods. But being an animal has been already pitiful; we don’t need to create more suffering for…

No one likes to suffer. None of us like to feel pain, but factory farmed animals such as cows, pigs, and chickens experience great pain in their short-lived lives. The website factoryfarming.com, states, “a standard beef slaughter house kills 250 cattle every hour.” The method used is “stunning” this is done by using a catapult gun and giving the cows a mechanical blow to the head. It is to render them unconscious, but this procedure is terribly imprecise: “as a result, conscious animals are often hung upside down, kicking and struggling, while a slaughterhouse worker makes another attempt to render them unconscious. Eventually the animals will be ‘stuck’ in the throat with a knife, and blood will gush from their bodies whether or not they are conscious” (factoryfarming.com). An animal has an intrinsic value, and to dismiss that, is morally wrong. How do we kill others that value their life? People may say it’s the cow’s…

The legislative branch is one of three divisions of government that works in union with the executive and judicial branches. The main duty of this branch of government is to present, analyze and pass legislation. According to the constitution, Congress has legislative power, however, that power is shared with the Judicial and Executive branch (Patterson, 2013). Also, two of the responsibilities of the legislative branch are to legislate the laws of the state, as well as suitable currency for the management of public procedure. They avoid the sadness and the tragedy that the walls hide, cows are often in most times treated very very badly. According to The Humane Society of U.S.A. cows are slaughtered at the age of only 16-18 weeks and about 30% are kept in “housing-groups” which they are individually confined, which they are kept there till they have reached the slaughtering weight. It is often assumed that they are slaughtered in a humane, clean way however more than 40 million cows die every year, they are beat almost to death, dragged, often forced to starve and dehydrate, electrocuted, poked, branded, and pushed into processing lines terrified of what beholds the end of that line. Most slaughterhouses use the slicing of the neck method or the bolt gun method, although 40% of the time it is ineffective and leaves the animal conscious throughout the process of being dismembered and…

I am so sick of hearing cases on the news, like "Man from Atlanta is facing penalties in Georgia in which a puppy was cooked in an oven" or "Brothers in Atlanta are being charged for putting a puppy in a gas range and turning the gas on." Animal cruelty is one of the most common types of violence in the United States. It is not as accustomed to hear such heartbreaking cases as these. Some of the most common forms of animal cruelty are: Animal testing and experimentation in laboratories, lack of owners care and attention, and using animals as a way of entertainment. Now, lets take a closer look at these three forms of animal cruelty.…

Many wild animals across the world are removed from their natural habitats and forced into captivity. Many are subject to abuse all for entertainment and profit. Unfortunately, many people who say they “love animals” may actually be contributing to the suffering of these animals because they are unaware of the things going on behind the scenes. Whether it’s simply seeing animals at the zoo, watching the whale shows at SeaWorld, riding elephants, or swimming with dolphins; people see these as fun ways to interact with wild animals. In reality, these animals greatly suffer in captivity and thus should not be used for entertainment.…
