In George Orwell’s historical fable Animal Farm, Boxer has an important role and is shown as the inspirational, dedicated, hard-working horse that is literally willing to die of labour for the benefit of the farm and the other animals. Boxer’s cry “I will work harder!” Symbolises the working class of the Russian revolution. Like them, he was submissive and had no choice to believe that whatever his leader said was right.
