We eat animals, they help us to create medicines and vaccines and we use them to create everyday goods that we intake or use. Should animals really have the same rights as us? Some people agree that they should have the same rights as us and some people disagree. Should they really be enforced?
Animals are often treated extremely badly, and abused because of the owners and because of companies doing testing on the animals and animal rights will help to put an end to animal testing and abuse. This was one main event that started animal rights off with a boom. P.E.T.A. (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is a company that is a major supporter of animal rights. They have helped to stop animal testing and abuse for decades and they continue to do so daily.
In 1992 P.E.T.A. helped to have the Animal Enterprise Protection act passed, which slightly helped with the issue. The animal Enterprise Protection act was a document that that basically stated that any living being that harmed or abused any human or animal would be imprisoned or sentenced to death, which made many less animal abusers (good thing) but it still didn’t stop enough people from harming animals (bad …show more content…
For example the farm dogs who are outside all day herding cattle or helping to do work, barely get any food or water after they are done with their work for the day. Other bad things that would happen would be that more lawsuits would be filed which would be good for the court and the lawyers, but bad for the people who work the court because they would be over-worked with court trails. Another bad outcome of this would be that Jails would fill up extremely quickly because of all of the lawsuits. Although the people who harm their animals will know to not do so, they will still abuse their animals’ even though the police would be looking for the people who abuse the pets.
