| Introduction |
The small and young rabbit raised his ears as he hears the sound of rattling cages around him. His big blue shiny eyes stare at the man with the long lab coat approaching it. As the man starts unlocking the small rusty cage, the animals around start getting unstable and it almost seems like a cry for help from their part as the rabbit is taken by the man with clamps.
The purpose of this research task is to prevent cruelty to animals and to disseminate animal testing, a more specific group will be focused which are the Rabbits. Animal testing is the use of animals for experimentation and research purposes. A wide range of these non-human animals are used and estimates of more than 100 million animals are used as experiments. These animals are of a wide range variety, such as mice, rats, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, non-human primates, fish and other vertebrates. Invertebrate animals are also used in experiments, an estimate of 75 million are used annually in the United States.
Animals are used as test subjects due to the negative side effects the chemical used on the subject might have. Animal testing occurs almost everywhere around the globe and it is normally for the safety of products for humans or for learning purposes and acquiring better knowledge. Animal testing involves skin corrosively and irritation, eye irritancy (normally on rabbits), toxic acids and toxicity. The huge doses of toxicity are normally performed on bigger species such as dogs. Laboratory experimentation on animals is never a necessary or ethical thing. There are alternatives to this cruel practice, such as simulation programs and chemical-assessment computers.
