Animal Testing: Are Animals Cruel And Inhumane?
Animal testing has been an issue since the 19th century, it all started in the United Kingdom with a French chemist named Louis Pasteur. Even though animal testing has a lot of pros and cons it is very cruel and inhumane. Right now many animals are locked inside cages in laboratories sitting lonely and fearing that they would be chosen to practice an experiment on them. They are forced to inhale cigarettes and they can’t spit it out because their mouth is locked up and they have no movement. They are used to test makeup products, vaccines and more. About 25 to 30 million animals are used every year to conduct scientific experiments, and that’s only in the United States. I can’t imagine how many other animals are used around the world.
The
main issue is to save animals from being tested on and to still get the results without harming anyone. There are now many alternative methods to make scientific experiments without harming any animals and that are less expensive. Now one of the alternatives to stop animal testing is to get human cells in a petri dish and conduct the experiment. Scientist can use a compute human model and can predict without experimenting on animals. It can also probably lead to misleading research, vaccines and other products that are tested on animals can probably harm them but can help us. Humans and animals are never the same, even though monkeys share most of theirs DNA with humans we are still not the same as them. Plenty of animal lives are wasted even if the experiment works or not. They are just thrown away like if they were trash and no one deserves to be treated that way.
If everyone stops animal testing our world would be a better place. No animals would be harm, scientist could get their results from human cells and everyone would be happy because everyone would get what they want.
