There is enormous variability between animal and human test subjects. As a result, the reaction of a drug in the body of an animal may be significantly different than the reaction of the same substance in a human (Davies, Morris, 1993). Due to this, animal testing is believed to be extremely unreliable. The uncertainty is followed by the belief that the animals do not perform as they normally would since they are put into an environment that is tremendously different from their naturally habitats. This added stress on the creatures would hinder their reactions to the substance under testing.
Therefore, animal testing does more harm than good. The planet suffers as animals are drawn closer to extinction, money is wasted over ineffective drugs that may permanently damage the animal it is being tested on, and the variability between human and animal may not provide the answers needed to benefit
