Anita Scism Case Summary
In this case, Anita Scism was ultimately chosen as the second President of the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas (Todd and White, 2002). The first President, Bill Mitchell, had led for the previous ten years from 1987 until 1997 and although he was well regarded and grew the center, he also experienced the growing pains of financial limitations and the expansion stressors of the original organizational structure. Anita’s main challenge within her new role was to increase revenues. Amongst her responsibilities included the need to strengthen the Center’s connection and service to the community and nearby university, to expand the diversity of attractions, to establish new learning center programs, to offer learning opportunities
