Presently, one event when hiding takes place on the first day of Hanukkah. All guests that are staying with Anne’s family seem a little upset because they will not be getting any presents this year for the celebration. Still, Anne managed to use her optimism and gather gifts for everyone! Ironically, she makes Hanukkah seem as if it is real and they are not actually hiding. For instance, she got Margot a crossword puzzle because she knows Margot loves puzzles. “It isn’t new. It’s one that you’ve done. But I rubbed it all out, and if you wait a little and forget, you can do it all over again.” In this example, it shows that even though Margot already did the puzzle before, Anne looked past the fact and still made it work. Although they are stuck in hiding, Anne still finds a way to look at things with the bottle half full.
After hearing all evidence, if it got to the point where you had to hide out for years and not even step outside, would you still think people are good at heart? Of course, Anne Frank definitely did!
