conflict. One example of a response is, what a girl named Sophie Scholl, who was a schoolgirl, during the rise of the Nazi regime. She did not support the ways of the Nazis and started talking out about it. It made her teachers extremely angry and they punished her. Another girl name Anne Frank, was a Jew during the rise of the Nazis. Her family’s response to the rise of power to the Nazis, was to hide away in a building next to her father’s office building, instead of getting out of Germany. Next, does responding in a different way change the outcome of the situation?
Theoretically, it could, but nobody can tell the future. An answer to this question is stated on a website posted by Washington Post, which said, “There’s no doubt she would have pursued her passion as a writer; it’s what she wanted to do, she wrote in April 1944. But she was already a skilled and talented writer. In her book,“Anne Frank: The Book, The Life, The Afterlife,” Francine Prose argues that Anne’s diary is a work of literature and not “just” an historical document chronicling the Holocaust.”, conveys that the situation could have dramatically changed. Continuing with Anne’s diary, over 60 million copies have been sold of it in 67 different languages. Another thing that would have been changed if Sophie Scholl didn’t respond to the Nazi regime is, people during that time period would not have the bravery to stand up for what they believe in. Because of this, people who didn’t believe in the Nazi ways, would slowly become overcome by the pressure and fall under Nazi influence. Falling under the influence would be debatable about if it would be better or worse for her, because in real life, she was executed. So, speaking out requires bravery and the knowledge of knowing what consequences will follow
you.
Finally, does the way you respond to something sway the way people think about you? In my opinion, yes it does. The way Sophie Scholl channelled her inner braveness and spoke up against the Nazis, shows that she is independent and powerful. If she didn’t speak up, it would give her off as a quiet, following individual. That could be a blessing or a curse. Like I said before, it would have affected many others like her because they would not be able to speak up as well because the would be afraid. As for Anne Frank, the way she responded, helped many people understand the conflict between the Jews and the Aryan Race. She also helped people understand about the Holocaust and how terribly violent it was for her, her family, and her friends. Because of that, she gained respect and many people know her world wide. In conclusion, human conflict is good and helps the world because it prepares us for what is coming up next. Just by asking questions like what are some ways that people respond to conflict, does responding a different way change the outcome, and does the way you respond change the way people think of you can help us understand more about conflict. This will help us progress farther and farther and help us gain knowledge of what affect conflict has on the human race as a whole.
