Anne Frank's Diary Compare/Contrast Essay

During the Holocaust, Anne Frank and her fellow residents of the Annexe were not the only ones who have a story of their suffering. There were and are many people to do so, including Krystyna. At seven years old, Krystyna went into hiding when her home, the ghetto was being liquidated. Their two horrific stories of the Holocaust are both similar yet very diverse in it’s self. On another note, In Anne Frank’s Diary, she talks about her adventures and experiences in the Holocaust and in the secret annexe. With help from office workers, they managed to go into hiding with food and water for two and a half years. Having to be silent, Anne had to adapt to this new life style. Living with eight other people, it was a challenge to live their day to day lives. Unfortunately, two months short after Anne’s 15th birthday, the Annexe was raided. Anne did not get the chance to be liberated. Krystyna had the opportunity to see her liberation and her being set free. That was a critical difference, there are still minor ones. Anne was 13 when she went into hiding while Krystyna was only 7 years old. If their lives were swapped, they both would have very different experiences and very diverse stories compared to what they currently are. I could never relate myself to their stories and survival. They went through hardships that I can never relate to. I cannot imagine their situation compared to what I think is a bad day. It is a privilege to do so. Thus Fourth, I cannot relate to them whatsoever. Overall, not one of their stories trumps each other, they both had traumatic experiences in the Holocaust. Both of Krystyna and Anne’s stories are beyond emotional. It is a privilege we even get the chance to hear one of a true survivor's stories. Both their stories were very similar yet very diverse. These are stories that have impacted me and I will never forget
