Anne Frank's Last Diary Entry

Anne’s last diary entry was on August 1, 1944 and they were arrested on August 4,1944 so she didn’t write in her diary on the day she was taken. The Frank family was hidden in the Annex with the Van Pels and Fritz Pfeffer. They whole Frank family was brought to Auschwitz in southern Poland. Anne and Margot were later taken to Bergen-Belsen in northern Germany. They changed camps because they were too young to die. They were treated Ruthlessly and cruelly. They forced to do hard labor. Most of the prisoners of the camps died. They died of disease, starvation,exhaustion and, some of them were executed. They were at the concentration camps for 4 to 7 months. They died of typhus. There mom , Edith Frank, died on January 6, 1945. She died of starvation at Auschwitz at the age of 44. The girls dad, Otto Frank, was the only survivor in the family. He survived because he was to sick to join the german evacuation. He died 35 years later on August 19, 1980. He died of lung cancer at the age of 91. He was the one to find and publish Anne’s diary. The diary was published June 25 ,1947. Peter died of exhaustion at Mauthausen in Austria on May 10, 1945. He lived to be 18. His dad died in 1944 and his mom died in 1945. They were 45 and 46. There other room mate Fritz Pfeffer died in 1944 at the age of 55. There were 6 million jews killed during the holocaust. About 90% of jews were wrongfully killed during this time. Otto was part of the 10% that lived. It was very rare for the prisoners to survive but there were some that were able to escape the germans and lived to tell their tale.
