Eating Disorders are unhealthy behaviors that relate to food and the weight of the body. Eating disorders involve the smaller intake of food, extreme intake of food and it relates to an over the top concern about the shape of body and size. No one is exactly sure about what brings out the disorder in the person, but researchers believe that dynamics in the family and social influences with thinness are what make society believe that the only way to be accepted is to be extremely thin. Even though disorders have existed since the beginning of society, disorders have received more attention due to death of celebrities passing away.
Have you ever wanted to lose weight and after months of dieting and exercising you step on the scale, all excited to see your results and they weren’t what you were expecting? So now you’re so disappointed in yourself and you will do anything to lose those pounds to fit in that tight black dress that makes your butt look great. Now you’re exercising more and more and you’re barely eating, then you start seeing the results you want, then you come to the conclusion that eating is getting in the way of you fitting into the dress, so you stop eating completely. What kind of person would do that just to be accepted for looking good in the dress? Well anorexics would. Anorexia nervosa, or better known as anorexia, is an eating disorder that makes you starve yourself. Anorexics have a self-image that is twisted. They see that they are fat but they are actually undernourished, which is what makes them want to starve themselves until they look like a skeleton. Some anorexics refuse to eat anything, or only take extremely small itty bitty bites of healthy foods, while some only drink water and some even take up diet pills.
