An anti-hero has good intentions but goes about these intentions in a bad or non-moral way. Because an anti-hero is not perfect all of the time, he or she is relatable and attractive. In Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novella Notes From Underground and Jim Uhls’s movie Fight Club, the underground man and Tyler Durden do not act as traditional heroes. A hero is “a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities,”(Google). There are many examples of heroes in literature, such as Odysseus or Harry Potter. There are, however, some characters in stories that do not fit this category as well as others.
