Ismene and I’s appearance that if she and I lived in the same time period, we could easily have been mistaken as twins. Ismene has bright blonde hair and statement blue eyes. Personally, I have been told …show more content…
that my light hair and cold eyes are some of my most distinguishing features. Ismene and I also have a similar fashion sense, as she is always wearing the trendiest and most beautiful gowns. I also tend to keep up with the latest style of my time period. These attributes, and many more, make Ismene and I practically identical to one another; therefore, proving how close she and I truly are.
Never before have I read and book and connected with a character’s personality the way I did as I thoroughly studied of Ismene’s life. Ismene has a spunky attitude; an attitude, that is not revealed until she feels threatened. This depiction of Ismene could not be shown more than the time she yelled at her sister for trying to prove her wrong! I often find myself in circumstances much alike this when I fight with my younger brother, Jake, who is often at disagreement with me. Although she and I both can be feisty, Ismene and I are actually very charismatic towards others when things go our way. Thus proving that Ismene and I have parallel attitudes when faced under similar situations.
The education available to women has altered immaculately from 500 B.C.
and now, but I have discovered that Ismene and I still have similar understandings of the world. Ismene is a religious young lady, and she has gained more of her knowledge from her church. Although I have the opportunity to learn outside religion, I still go to church to grow spiritually educated. Due to this, she and I both belief in supreme beings, and life beyond the grave. This makes our worldly views much alike. Though we may not be at the same level of mathematical and scientific education, spiritually our hearts are one. Therefore, providing evidence that Ismene and I have closely comparable knowledge on the world.
In conclusion to this comparison essay, you are more like people than you think. You just have to dig deep and really search to find your similarities.
While studying Antigone, written by Sophocles, one can reveal much about him or herself, through character comparison. Personally I find myself relating to the strong-minded Ismene. First, through physical features, and styles. Second, through self-demeanor. Finally, connecting through similar understandings of the world she and I inhabit. I encourage one to interpret Antigone, by character comparison, and discover things about oneself one could not find on he or she’s
own.
