Anxiety disorders are more common in women. A study showed that 40 million adults (18% of the population) struggle with an anxiety disorder. That is important because it shows really how many people anxiety effects in our country. Some recent press about anxiety disorders was an interview with a man who has a disorder. In the article he talks about how he feels and what his life is like living with the disorder. Another recent article that was published about anxiety was written by a doctor. Anxiety also causes them to feel so overwhelmed with stress that they can not deal with it. Teenagers deal with it by either trying not to think about it and having fun to get their minds off of it or they hide out in their rooms all day to just try to get it to go away.Anxiety can also affect their social life. It can affect your social life by you not wanting to interact with other people because you feel so overwhelmed with things going on.
Treatments/Cures/Preventions If you have an anxiety disorder you have two types of treatment options that you can do to improve. The first thing you can do is get medical treatments. Those treatments include prescriptions and/or counseling. The second option is lifestyle changes. Those changes include having less caffeine, getting more sleep and being more active. To help cure this disorder you have to either take prescriptions, see a therapist or change your lifestyle. To prevent this disorder you just have to relax make sure you do not get too overwhelmed and stressed out.
