Introduction
Over the past two years our memberships are steadily growing, and we are starting to experience overcrowding.
Therefore, I am proposing that we conduct research for a larger space preferably in our current complex. The proposal will identify the impact of this problem and the procedures to conduct my research. This will also include the cost associated with expansion, a schedule for completion, and my qualifications.
The Problem: Current Growth/Space Issues
Due to the growth of our memberships, we are now facing space issues including overcrowding during peak hours and an increased demand for additional services. Since we are facing overcrowding during peak hours we have many people waiting around to use equipment and
Not having significant space to complete workout.
Initially 2,500 square feet was adequate for our facility. However, our membership has grown to over 500 and continues to increase monthly. Therefore, I recommend that we research the benefits of expansion.
Expansion would allow our facility to offer additional services including aerobic classes and group training. This would allow people in all ages to come and work out instead of just body
builders.
Procedures:.
I recommend the following research to assist with a cost analysis:
• What are the national averages of memberships based on Anytime Fitness club sizes? Research databases and speak with the CEO to see what the averages are
• What is the minimum increase of space needed for current membership trends? I would need make a survey asking members what they think will be needed.
• What is the maximum space we would consider? Need to speak with CEO and figure out how much is being spent altogether.
• What additional services will we offer to sustain the growth? For example: Adding aerobic classes and group/personal training, retail sales. Checking other gyms to see what classes and services they have. Figure out what people like and want. Give customers a survey on what they would like.
Cost Analysis: No financial expenses are necessary for this research. I will be able to do most of my research on weekends during my time at the gym.
