The College of Engineering at the University of Michigan offers a blend of theory and hands-on application. Students can apply complex theory to solve real world problems. I feel this style is a good match for the way I learn. I have always succeeded in science and math, challenging myself in high school with honors or AP versions of those classes. I even apply my knowledge by tutoring others. I’ve found breaking down those problems and explaining to someone else not only helps them but reinforces my own knowledge.

Thanks to my mom's relationship with the center, I have heard many amazing stories about the teams and the students that participate in them. She raves about Mars Rover and Solar Car teams and how they break down barriers, solve problems, and build things that nobody else could think of.
