I was raised on the idea that “it’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine”. My grandmother and both parents graduated from the University and have made it a magical place for me. I have watched what the Michigan education has done for my parents, opening career doors and fostering that spirit of continuous learning. Once I knew that I wanted to study engineering, I knew that Michigan was the place for me because of its nationally ranked engineering school and biomedical program, research hospital and medical school, as well as it’s huge student-led design teams. The College of Engineering at the University of Michigan offers a blend of theory and hands-on application. Students can apply complex theory to solve real world problems. I feel this style is a good match for the way I learn. I have always succeeded in science and math, challenging myself in high school with honors or AP versions of those classes. I even apply my knowledge by tutoring others. I’ve found breaking down those problems and explaining to someone else not only helps them but reinforces my own knowledge.
