Apollo: The Most Complex Greek Gods
Apollo is one of the most complex, famous and interesting gods. Apollo is the god of music, poetry, art, oracles, archery, plague, medicine, sun, light and knowledge. Apollo was born into royalty, with his mom, Leto, his dad, Zeus, and his twin sister Artemis. Leto was the goddess of women demoner and motherhood. Zeus was the god of sky and Olympian gods. His twin sister, Artemis was the goddess of hunting.

A natural instinct of Apollo’s was a the ability to fight. This came as no surprise when it came time of war Apollo thought he would be the best of all the warriors. Of all the greek gods bombarding the city of Troy in the Trojan War, Achilles, the god of war, was considered the best fighter there, not Apollo. He had easily defeated the Trojan captain, Hector, in one attack. Upon Hector’s death, Paris who is Hector’s brother got together with Apollo in a plan to eliminate Achilles, and they did so by Apollo directing the flight of Paris’ arrow. Many gods married and had kids, but Apollo did not. However he did have some relationships with Coronis, a princess, and Calliope, goddess of music, sound and dance. Apollo is known for his notorious pursuit of Daphne. The story goes as told, Cupid was sitting by the river bank, looking at his arrows. Some which were gold tipped of gold and the remainder were lead tipped. Cupid flew up to Mnt. Parnassus, where he struck Daphne with a lead arrow, for fear, and Apollo with gold, for love. As soon as Apollo sees Daphne he would fall in love. Daphne fearing Apollo runs and calls out for her dad, and in order to protect her he turns her into a tree.
