THE PROBLEM: RATIONALE AND BACKGROUND
INTRODUCTION
The development of the human environment has been accompanied by industrialization worldwide. Rice has remained one of the basic necessities of human in the world especially in Philippines. The rice industry usually involved with process of exploration, extraction, marketing its product and other aspects which may contribute to the immediate progress of the industry. As one of the leading food crops, rice is a food crop which usually found on the daily meals of human specifically in tropical region where it’s cultivated for edible seed. It is known to be prepared and planted on both temperate and tropical places like Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Oceania (Australia) and southern part of Europe so it can grow bountiful and healthy. However, the rice on a certain field may affect its growth due to some factors like sudden change of weather, human errors, pests and many more.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK The Pomacea Canaliculata is a small and golden snail. It is called “Golden Apple Snail”, and it is also known as “Golden Kuhol”. In the Philippines, it was introduced between 1982 and 1984. Golden apple snails become a serious problem for farmers because it eats crops and plants in these days in the Philippines.
The golden apple snail has a muddy brown shell. The shell is lighter than the darker and smaller native snails. Its succulent flesh is creamy white to golden pinkish or orange-yellow. The male has a convex operculum that curves out or away from the shell, whereas the female lid curves into the shell.
