Yes, it is a proven fact, with lots and lots of experiments to prove that, technology is a big distraction in today’s generation. There was an experiment shown that they actually might be failing us educational wise, there was a study done that people who are more active on their phones, got 20% lower on a cognition tests. The other study showed, that on a good day students can concentrate for up to two minutes, before their phone becomes a distraction.

“According to a survey, ‘55% of drivers would not deactivate technologies that eliminate potential distractions’.” Driving while distracted is one of the most life threatening experiences, in 2015 3,477 lives were claimed from distracted driving. Distracted driving is not just texting and talking on the phone it is also, eating and drinking, talking to the passengers, changing your radio or GPS, it is anything that takes your eyes or attention off of the road even if it just for a couple of seconds. It was proven that taking your eyes of the road for 5 seconds to check a text message at 55 mph, is like driving down a full length football field with your eyes closed. NHTSA(National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), is in high action trying to make a change in this major problem, they are trying to talk to most teenagers about the dangers of texting a driving, some even have “texting and driving” victim survivors, come talk to the teenagers themselves, to show them the impact, that can happen to their lives, or even other drivers that might be affected by them.
