Argument Against College
Growing up, my parents instilled in me that college equals success. My family and I are most definitely a part of the America that is obsessed with college. My dad has always said, “In the real word, you’ll need a college degree.” I've taken that strongly to heart and plan on attending college after high school. I believe that for all high school graduates, college is a must to achieve a comfortable life. Most people do not want to be “just another statistic” but in this case, I would not mind at all. In “The Case Against College,”an article written by Linda Lee, she discusses the expense and inconvenience of sending a child to college. Of course, that is all I have ever known as an option. Although the experience and responsible of student may be risky, I do strongly believe that anyone with a college education would not regret the time and hard work put into the

College is fundamental to me for several reasons. For example, in the article College Is Worth The Cost, by Brooks C. Holtom states that “college graduates earn $2.1 million in a lifetime income compared with $1.2 million for high school graduates.” I will earn about a million more dollars than high school graduates if I am a college graduate. This is important because then I will have enough money to provide for my own kids and wife later on then I would also have enough money to give to my parents and siblings if they need it. Also, the article states, “continuing education after high school is much more important for our generation compared to our parents generation.” Additionally most jobs require more than a high school diploma. Did your parents attend college? If your parents did not have a chance to go to college then you should go to college to make them proud of you. College doesn’t just bring you school it also brings you adventure, parties, new friends, and more fun stuff. Lastly, in the article Getting…

Furthermore colleges has helped many students foster out of their shells and produce astonishing works that they had not ever imaged to do alone. And according to Pew Research.com three different generations (Boomers, Gen-Xers, Millennials) were asked if college was worth it and about 83% of all those students said that college did pay off even though the cost and investment was really high. In a similar way my own father went through this road and he didn't only manage to obtain that degree he also got the experience and education that a college gives you, he learned to be responsible, respectful and organized. And although there is a great amount of money put into college education at the end the outcome is worth more than the investment.…
