The decision as whether to keep or destroy the egg should be left up to the parents. I do not necessarily think that it is ethical to screen for diseases by using IVF. However, I do think if the parents would like to do so, it is their choice. I feel that this is not right due to the fact that you could abort just because your potential baby could have a desease and you do not want to deal with it. I do not think IVF is immoral but I do think IVF is immoral if doing so just to screen for diseases.
Kant would ask if every parent would do such a thing and if not then if can not be moral. So, I do not think he would agree with this topic. From a Utilitarian approach, you would ask if this brings out the greatest good. So really this perspective would depend on the situation.
