Today’s Social Situation
Now a day we live in a world where socializing has jumped on a whole new level. It is said to be much easier to meet other people online. Using such networks as, Instagram, twitter, Facebook, etc. Many people believe that all of these networks are the new way to connect and that the world is more connected now than ever. People can communicate more now than ever before with the internet and technology today. It is true that people can communicate on the internet in many different ways but, when it comes to social interaction in the real world it is completely different. People depend on technology more now than ever. Instead of interacting face to face with people they interact with phones, computers, and televisions. There has to be some sort of balance between socializing in person and socializing through technologies because now people are stuck with their face in their phones and computers like robots. Most people today are not interacting with one another face to face. Everybody has to realize this and do something about it because this is making society less interactive when it comes to face to face communicating instead of face to phone or computer. Connecting with someone on Facebook or twitter is not the same as actually meeting them in person. On these networks people cannot express or show their emotions to their “friends” or followers. It is hard for someone to actually get to know someone else’s personality through a few word posts or photos here and there. Man people do socialize more through these networks rather than in person. They do this because they feel more comfortable being able to hide their emotions and pretend to be someone that they are not. People are being “catfished” in today’s cyber society. This means, people pretend to be someone they are not. For example, putting a fake profile picture up instead of their actual self or telling someone about
