75% of Teen has cell phones. Do you have a cell phone? Do you use you electronic devise during class? Has your cell phone ever rung during class? While electronic devices help student during class, they should be ban in class rooms because of cheating, make students less sociable and, they are a distraction.
Electronic devices are helpfully during because they have internet. The reason internet is helpful during class is that; it could help you look up part of a lecture that you may not understand or want to learn more. One example of that is if you are in a math class and did not really show how to solve a problem you could search on and find out for yourself how to solve that problem. Another example is if you are in a bio class and one of the subjects you are learn really interest you could search that subject online and find more info on it during class. Despite, being useful to student electronic devices should be ban in class room is to avoid cheating. If electronic device are promoted during class, it would be hard for teachers to catch student who are cheating. The reason for that is because student would be able to message each other answer or ask fellow student for help on test. They could also take pictures of test and send them to other student of that same class. Also, because electronic devices have internet connectivity they could use that for cheating. For example, if a student is taking a test he could go online and to a web site like Google or Yahoo and searcher up the answer for the question on the test. Another way that electronic devise can be used for cheating, is because of the many apps they have. For example, a student can go to the android or apple app store and download the many apps they have like Mathway were you type in a math problem and it tell you that answer. Another reason that electronic devices should be ban in class room is they cause students to be anti-social. Electronic devise discourage socializing between student and also, between students and teachers. If a student is using his electronic devices to text or check social media sites during class he or she is less likely to participate during class discussions. If the student do not participate during lecture or class dissections the teacher does not know what the class is learn and what they are not. Sociability could also be a problem when student are put into pairs or in groups. If one of the students in a group is use his electronic device and ignoring the other students in the group, how can the group succeed when one member is not contributing. The reason students are put into groups is that they learn from their fellow class mates and, also to work together to solve problems.
Final reason that electronic devices should be ban in class room is that they are a distraction. A reason that electronic devices are a distraction is that make noise during class. I could not count the time a cell phone has ringed during a test or class and, distracts the whole class from the lecture. The reason the noise is a problem is that it ruins a student chain of thought or just halted the class until the cell phone is turn off. If we banned electronic devices during from class the phone ringing during class would stop and, class would be more productive. Another reason that electronic devices are distracting is that they have internet. The reason internet is distracting is because all of the social media sites like Facebook, tweeter, and YouTube. I like many other students have been in a situation in class where they are hitting that refresh button on Facebook or searcher thing for videos on YouTube. It is a big problem because if you are on you electronic device during class you are not paying attention so, you do not learn anything that day and now you are a day behind that rest of the class. The internet dose not only distracts you but also other student around you. The reason for that is if you are watching YouTube videos on your laptop the people around you may start to pay more attention to your computer screen that to the teacher. As I said before election devices do help student but, it does come with a coast it cause cheating, make students less sociable and, they distracts them and that is way they should be ban during class. The next time you are going to class please just have the common curtsy to turn off your entropic devices. The reason is that it makes that class room a better learning environment and help to take away distractions.
