Argumentative Essay: Columbus Day Is A Waste Of Time
Columbus Day first became a federal holiday in 1937, it was originally created to celebrate Christopher Columbus’s voyage into the “United States”. Over many centuries we were taught to believe that Christopher Columbus, sailed the ocean blue in 1492 and discovered the United States. But all we were taught is FALSE!
Knowing that Christopher Columbus’s journey to the United States was false, causes us all to debate whether we should still continue to celebrate the federal holiday of Columbus Day. In my opinion, celebrating Columbus Day is a waste of time. Celebrating a cruel man’s false journey, is irrelevant to all USA citizens, we should not miss a day of useful time for such a disgusting person. Columbus Day is like celebrating and recognizing
