Argumentative Essay: Lowering The Voting Age

Imagine what your biggest concern was when you were 16 years old? I know I was in Highschool when at a time in life, my biggest concerns were boys and makeup. I feel the voting age should not be lowered. Lowering the age would actually decrease voting percantages. Teenagers aren't concerned with politics. There are many otherways to improve voter turnout besides having teens vote. In 1948, 51% of elgible voters participated in the presidential elections. By the time the united states held the 2012 election, there had only been a 11% increase, making voter participation at 62%. By lowering the voting age we would end up decreasing these low pertancages. Most young voters dont care to vote, meaning less eligible voters at the polls.
