Coal powered energy has always played an important role in our civilization; it is used to produce heat and electricity in a process that is entirely different from solar power. Coal powered energy is the most consuming fossil fuel but it is not renewable. According to www.epa.gov, “Coal is a fossil fuel formed from the decomposition of organic materials that have been subjected to geologic heat and pressure over millions of years. Coal is considered a nonrenewable resource because it cannot be replenished on a human time frame.” Using coal as an energy source can very dirty since it involves mining and combustion fuel. Coal-powered energy is very useful because it could be used to heat up homes and factories in a cheaper way. According to the office of Indian energy and economic development, “Approximately 4% of the coal mines in the U.S is exported and most of the exported coal is used for making …show more content…
One of the differences between these two energies is their cost. Coal powered energy seems to be a whole lot cheaper than solar powered energy. Coal powered energy is cheaper because it is easier to import and export from places. On the other hand, the production of solar powered energy is very costly because of it requires many resources in order to transformed into simple electricity. Another difference is the simple fact that coal powered energy requires human labor and water, while solar powered energy comes directly from the
